Devotional
We all fall short of God’s glory, but true repentance provides a way for us become free of our sins and be forgiven. Jesus has already paid the price, but repentance is the gift of God’s grace so that we may restore ourselves to a clean heart and a right spirit.
True repentance isn’t just saying “I’m sorry”. We can’t spin it, downplay it or make excuses. We need to humble ourselves and truly feel the consequences of our sin—only then can we experience true conviction.
True repentance requires transparency. We need to come clean and bring it to God, with an attitude of honesty and accountability. Confessing our sins to the Lord is confirmation that our hearts are aligned to His will.
Lastly, true repentance demands thatwe turn from our old ways. We must transform our mindset, our character and our actions. We must break the patterns of behavior that drove us to sin and truly move our hearts to turn from it.
